Join Sen. Michael Bennet for Lunch on January 2

We are excited to let you know that Senator Michael Bennet will be visiting Grand Junction on January 2, 2010, for lunch and conversation.

We hope you'll come and meet Michael to see why so many people are calling him a breath of fresh air in Washington. Michael isn't your usual career politician looking to climb to the next-highest office. Instead, he has a wealth of real world experience: he led a major urban school district, turned around failing companies, and successfully guided the City of Denver through a budget crisis.
Rather than settling for politics as usual, Michael finds common sense solutions. For example, a piece of legislation Michael drafted based on the transitional care system right here in Mesa County has been included in the Senate's health care bill. Michael's legislation will lower hospital readmission rates for Medicare patients, and save money, by keeping patients healthy after they leave the hospital. Applied nationally, this will aid an estimated 12 million patients.
Michael's leadership and ability to find sensible solutions to our most difficult problems is something desperately needed in the Senate. That is why we are supporting his campaign for U.S. Senate in 2010.
We hope you'll join Michael for lunch and a conversation on January 2 -- get a sense of who he is, and the work he has done so far as our U.S. Senator -- and, we hope, support his campaign.
